Dave & Julie are Married| Thousand Island, NY wedding photographer

September 6th, 2010 , Posted in Weddings | 1 comment

Congratulations to Dave and Julie who were married last weekend on Thousand Island Park. It was a beautiful, relaxed wedding and the location fit the style of the day to a tee. I will have to make a separate post at some point to highlight all of the great little details and touches that this wedding had. It would really inspire those who are planning a wedding I’m sure.

Can you believe how cute these dresses are? Julie’s short dress was perfect for roaming around the island and jumping on a boat. The bridesmaid dresses were perfect for all of the swing dancing that happened that evening.

Julie made a stunning bride.

I love this shot.

And this one.

Thank you so much for having me as your wedding photographer.

3 kids and a dog| Fayetteville, NY family photographer

This is just about a perfect picture in my book. The dog is just the icing on the cake–meaning he makes it go from a good shot to a great one.

This little guy gave me plenty of different expressions during his session–this is one of his calmer looks.

I love the colors in her room–they made for a fun portrait.

Check out that board and how much use it has gotten–love it.

This is what happened when I asked if they had any ideas for a shot together.

Thank you so much for having me out to photograph your beautiful family.

Utica E-Session| Syracuse, NY wedding photographer

These two were easy to laugh and I just love that. They picked to have their e-session at a golf course in Utica–of course I took many photos in which you would never know we were on a golf course.

Such as…

and

and

and two more.

Maybe I’ll include a little of the course–and two runners just for fun.

Thanks so much for such a fun engagement session, and I hope you don’t mind that I didn’t include much golf in your session. :)

Brian & Lindsay are Married!!!| Syracuse, NY wedding photographer

August 21st, 2010 , Posted in Weddings | No comments

Congratulations Lindsay and Brian!!! I hope you are enjoying your Hawaii honeymoon. All of us back in Syracuse are wishing we were there. Stock up on lots of images and warmth to get you through the winter.

Last Saturday was spent photographing Lindsay and Brian’s wedding out in New Hartford and Verona. Lindsay has such a great sense of style and design. I really know nothing about that sort of thing, but would you check out some of the colors for her wedding? I just loved them.

And, call me crazy, but I am in love with this portrait of Lindsay saying goodbye to her bridal party who were going to the church ahead of her. She is just standing off of her parent’s kitchen in the garage, but I love it. Notice the veil sitting on the stove?

After the ceremony we did a few shots at Root Glen at Hamilton College. It is a lovely location.

The reception was held at Turning Stone in the Cypress Room.

Lindsay and Brian you were such a great couple to work with and I really enjoyed getting to know you over the past year. Best of luck! And to see a slideshow from the day click HERE.

And excuse me while I sniffle a little bit here. You see, Lindsay and Brian’s wedding was also the last wedding where I had Stephanie Antshel as my partner. For the past few years I have had the great fortune to have Stephanie with me at many of the weddings that I photographed. She started out as a traditional second shooter, but I soon realized that she was my equal in photography and I am really going to miss both her great skill, but also the friendship she provided me at the weddings we shot together. If I don’t think she will kill me I will have to give a whole new blog post singing Steph’s great qualities, but for now I will just say that I will miss her and wish her many a relaxing Saturday with her family. Oh, and if you ever get tempted to jump back into weddings you better let me know!

*thanks to Linday and Brian for having a fun photobooth (from partybooths.com) so that we could get this shot of us together.

Summer Party!| Fayetteville, NY family photographer

What an awesome party. It was a perfect day, people were having a great time, and why would they not. This party seriously had everything you could want. These small images really don’t do it justice, but I had to share a lot of them and this was the best way. If you click on each collage you can see the images larger.

Thanks for having me out again to document this fun tradition.

Backyard fun| Fayetteville, NY family photographer

August 17th, 2010 , Posted in Portraits | No comments

This will be an extra large share since I have been a bit behind in getting this blog post up. I don’t know about you, but with only a few weeks left until school starts, and the weather looking super beautiful, it has been hard to sit behind my computer as much as I should. Mix in the fact that my kids are done with camp and think that every moment should be scheduled with something, and well I’m a bit behind. If you are waiting on your proofs I promise I haven’t forgotten you. I want to spend some time with those images, and I promise it won’t be long…

On to backyard fun.

I loved hanging out and getting to know this family a little bit while photographing them. The girls even laughed a little bit at my jokes.

Mostly, they laugh at each other.

I love it when the dog smiles for me.

Love that stare.

Seeing this image small really doesn’t do it justice. It is a simple image, but I love it a lot.

Cuties.

Showing off their climbing and jumping skills.

Woof woof—love getting in a dog portrait.

Thanks for having me out.
