Laura and Clara’s Engagement Session
Friday, May 30th, 2008We had a beautiful night for a session with just the right amount of light streaming in. Laura and Clara are going to have a outdoor ceremony at Cayuga Nature Center near Ithaca.
I encouraged them to include their cute dogs in a few pictures–and don’t you just love the light.
I love this moment.
Thanks for having me out and see you soon!
May 24th wedding at Hendricks Chapel
Wednesday, May 28th, 2008Saturday’s wedding was such fun to be a part of. Amy and Joe were so full of excitement.
See what I mean?
and what a beautiful bride Amy was
Check out this cake cutting!
Finally—I always ask couples ahead of time if they want to do any crazier bridal party shots. Amy and Joe did not. BUT, sometimes your guests talk you into something and it is my job as the photographer to get the shot. I do think it turned out pretty fun, so thanks to the guest who put them up to it.
I am still sifting through the shots from Saturday, but I have pulled a couple (okay like 70) images out and put together a little slideshow from the day.

Thanks again Amy and Joe!! Much love and happiness.
Here is one of me with the Bride and Groom!

Sunday, May 25th, 2008Monica and Griff—Engagement Session
Sunday, May 25th, 2008I am really looking forward to the wedding of Monica and Griff. It will be an intimate ceremony in the Adirondacks on a lake—So it is only fitting that I took this couple out to Green Lakes State Park for part of their engagement session.
They were so much fun, and I LOVE this shot big time.
I’m not sure if this was before or after Griff picked up Monica in the parking lot of the coffee shop we started our day at. And I do love the shoes and red polish in these two pics–can’t turn them to black and white.
And just to prove that I still use black and white and can get pictures that don’t include laughing.
It was great to meet you both. I can’t wait for the wedding.
Two baby pictures we waited for
Wednesday, May 21st, 2008At the beginning of sessions I often ask families to tell me if there is anything special they want me to try to capture–a special outfit, expression, etc. This family wanted to try to capture some smiles because this little guy had recently started smiling, and some pictures of the baby sleeping in a basket. He couldn’t do a true newborn session because he was born 5 weeks early so now at almost 12 weeks he isn’t quite as sleepy as a newborn, but I said that I would certainly try.
This baby was really laid back and a wonderfully baby considering that he wasnt’ feeling well the day before. HOWEVER, we were all having trouble trying to get him to smile. You know how when babies first start smiling it is really inconsistent? Anyway….
I was thrilled when I saw this happening and perhaps a bit lucky that I was able to capture it.
And then there was the basket that mom wanted to include, but the baby wasn’t so sure about sleeping in. YES!
And finally I just love how he is getting too big for his swaddling blankets and his toes are sticking out.
Thanks for having me out.
A New York Newborn
Tuesday, May 20th, 2008I am in the midst of proofing my NC sessions, but made time for this little newborn. I was pointing out to my youngest daughter who is 5 that the big sister in this picture is also 5, but has two little siblings. She was stunned.
I hope all of their moments are this sweet.
and LOOK—I think she is smiling at me.
