My mother-in-law is a big follower of my blog. She always calls when she sees something she likes and gently reminds me when it has been awhile since I last showcased her grandchildren. She even once told me that she has never made it on my blog, which I can’t believe, so this post is for her.

These images are from a session today and it was a gloomy, rainy day that we made the best of. I happen to love this type of lighting for black and white images.

And, I did promise the girls I would show some jumping pictures which almost all kids love to do. These girls also had just the cutest rooms ever. I think I am inspired to work on my girl’s rooms.

I love it when I get to go back and photograph the same kids time after time. I had not seen this little girl since she was a newborn so she had changed quite a bit. I’m not sure I would have guessed that she would have white curly hair, but I love that she did.

We started out the session sooooo serious.

Well at least as serious as three boys can be.

But then things went a little silly…

and then a little more silly.

I think they were headed for ice cream after I left. I can only image how much sillier it got.

I photographed a really beautiful location and super nice couple that got married on Saturday. I’m busy getting their slideshow ready, but had to share a few now.

It was a great day for this session with a lively 4 year old.

I’ll start out with a rare still moment from the sweet little girl I photographed today. Actually, if you look at her hair you can tell that she isn’t really still. She is just about the jump in the air and fling the apple she is holding.

Here is some major action. Look at that game face.

The pool was a bit cold for her to jump in, but she was thrilled when her dad made the jump.

I had to pull over when I saw this rainbow during my vacation in Colorado–love the crazy clouds in the sky.

We still have two weeks until the first day of school. I’m scrambling to find daycare arrangements for the end of summer and next year, but still trying to fit in some fun kid time.

If you have noticed that the blog seemed a little dead for a bit it was because I was out of town on our annual camping vacation. This year we went to the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, with stops along the way in Missouri, Nebraska, and Boulder, Colorado. It was way fun, but it was hard to be away and extra hard since we drove all of the way.

Thanks to all of my clients who happened to have sessions right before I left and have been patiently waiting to see their proofs. I promise they are coming!! I know I also won’t be able to resist showing some more pics from the vacation as well.
