I’m enjoying a little downtime with the kids over break. These were all taken at Chittenango Falls. If you haven’t been out there recently it is just gorgeous and the waterfall is incredible with all of the recent snow melt.

The build up to the holidays in Syracuse was pretty cliche.

There was a lot of snow.

I always made sure to shovel a path for the UPS deliveries.

There was a lot of shoveling.

But it is still early in the winter season here so we were all enjoying the snow.

The night before Christmas Sadie lost her other top tooth–so a visit from Santa and the Tooth Fairy was in order. Here she is right before the tooth came out.

Then it was Christams and the image I make (torture) my kids agree to before I allow them to rush to the tree.

And the excitement….one of many such moments.

Having a tea party with some new toys later in the day– Gotta love the basket of wine corks that is being used to hold the doll up.

All in all it has been a great holiday here. We missed being with family, but enjoyed leaving toys all over the place and not getting dressed for the day until after lunch.

I got some extra points this year for getting my husband an iPod touch. He refuses to have a cell phone, but I think he is enjoying this little toy.

And I’ll end with this post with an image I took of Echo at Jason’s lab at SU. One of my Christmas presents was the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice which I just finished watching with my girls. They seemed to enjoy most of the 4 hour long movie and I just loved it. This image sort of reminded me of all the shots in the movie where the sisters are looking out the windows waiting for news.

I was flattered to be asked by another photographer to do her family session.

There was so much joy in the house and how could there not be with such a giggly little girl around.

And she had good reason to be so. Her daddy, whom is in the military had just come home. I’m not sure how long he had been gone for, but mom had been worried that she might be a little slow to warm up to him.

Ummm…..not a problem.

In fact while we wanted to get some great family pictures, one goal was to get some great pictures of mother and daughter. In fact I didn’t do hardly any pictures of this little cutie by herself, because her mother is also a photographer in Watertown, and she has many photographs of her daughter, but not many with her in them.

So, mother-daughter it was—and mostly dad because she was not letting him out of her sight.

So cute.

April’s current studio is located in her house and from what I could see her work is really great. She is moving into a downtown Watertown location this winter and I’m sure she is going to find herself very busy.

And in honor of the season…

I can’t believe I didn’t post some of the adorable images from this session earlier this month. This little girl had the cutest room.

I love how the colors of her room made such a nice backdrop.

She was so close to crawling when I did the session. She looked so proud here with the little bit of movement she had accomplished.

And this image didn’t make the Holiday card, but it is so cute I’ll share it here.

My baby just lost her top baby tooth. I hope everyone has been enjoying the snow! I’ve got lots of fun images to post, but not until I finish up with Christmas orders and weddings–not to mention my own cards and gifts!

Just to be different how about if I put them in a laundry basket.

Actually I do this all the time at session–it helps to contain fast toddlers.

These two had a super sweet big sister.

And the dimples on the kids were to die for.

It was a super dark, cold, dreary day during this session, but it helps when the kids are so sweet. Such sweet siblings.
