It was the summer that Echo discovered Mad Libs and we played it most of the time. She even made up a few of her own.

Love it when my girls actually get this close to each other.

And, I must have been on that day because look at all these smiles. Actually, I remember making the parents work pretty hard for me.

I thought it was a great idea to pull this couch outside to make use of the lovely setting, but the weather was so crazy that it had to be pulled back like three times due to rain. We would see the rain coming and run with the couch, and then the rain would stop and they would be great sports and lug the couch out again. Repeat. Crazy, but I think it worked out okay in the end.

The only problem with vacations (mine was great by the way) is coming home and doing your best to catch up on all of the work that you missed. Plus, I decided to take the last two weeks before school starts to not have any camps in place. I’m getting to spend more time with my girls, but juggling everything makes for many late nights. Luckily I’ve got some good babysitters nearby.

This was a huge session I did for an extended family. I did lots of posed shots (well posed for me) but also tried to capture many real, fun images along the way as well. Here are a few.

gotta love sister shots. This was the closest I could get them to stand next to each other.

There was a lovely little wildflower patch nearby and one mom put them to good use.

There was also a pond in which the kids were very good at finding frogs for me to photograph.

When I was told the details about this party I knew it was going to be fun to photograph. I was hired to just do photojournalistic coverage of the event and it provided plenty of fun moments.

This was from the showdown of the adult bubble blowing winner and the kid bubble blowing winner. I believe the kid took home the big prize.

A dunk tank! This kid fell many times, and kept coming back for more.

Three-legged races– So simple, but so much fun. Notice the hat that has fallen off?

I liked this kid’s method, but unfortunately I don’t think it helped him much.

Some folks just like running. This little girl wanted to do the race a number of times.

There were so many treats at the party and the kids were making sure to enjoy all of them.

I am in that last moment panic mode before a trip—wondering what I have forgotten, and trying to mentally take note of the work that will be waiting for me when I get back.

I am heading out on my family vacation–away from computers, email, twitter, and all of those other fun things.

I have lots of images that I would love to write about, but it would take me a full 24 hours to get it done, so I’m just going to show you a bit of what I have been up to this busy week.

An engagement session.

I also shot two extended family sessions, one awesome party, and an engagement session, but those will have to wait until I get back–sorry!!!!

I shot this engagement session last week, but being behind on my blog have just gotten around to posting it. We had an awesome evening and a lovely setting in Cazenovia, NY for the session. We met at a family house and were followed around at first by many nieces and nephews who were visiting. This little guy didn’t like the kissing shot that much.

I love this swing shot.

The light was super yummy.

These two were laughing in almost every shot. I love it.

A shop owner who was watching me photograph tipped us off to this awesome spot.

We ended the session out on the dock. They are getting married in October and I’m sure it will be a fun day.

This has got to be one of my favorite cousin pictures. I have the laughs thanks to a silly dad standing behind me.

For part of the session they decided to make lemonade, which was a great idea.

Lots of newborns and pregnant bellies recently. I love how the dog matches the outfit here–and the red shoes with the red nail polish. LURRRVVVV IT!

It is never too early to start reading to your baby.

When I got to the house I noticed a room full of Clemson gear. I told them that we had to use one of the Clemson objects in a photo. I probably should have kept this in color to show off the orange, but I just love the story of the photo in black and white. And, once again the dog and whatever he is doing just makes it all work.

Oh my goodness I just love this family shot. I did get some family shots with the whole family in focus, but this one just screams real life to me.–

Real life with 4 kids and two of them 1 year old twins.

And I do it love it when my sessions get real. Like when the baby who didn’t want to be in the pictures decided to run right through the photo of her brothers.

This image reminds me of many classic twin shots. It is the  non-smiles that does it I think.

I did get some smiles. And, how cool that mom allowed bubbles in the dining room.

This is the third time I have gotten to photograph this sweetie. The first time she was still in her mom’s belly. Now she is a super busy 1 year old.

Are you kidding me? Those eyes are just stunning!

I’m not sure who deserved this little look, but I thought it was cute.

Good thing I was at the end of the bed to make sure she didn’t fall off!
