Dogs, dogs, dogs, and one cat–That is how the afternoon went while I was helping out the Bright Star German Sherperd Rescue. One of my former bride’s asked me to help with a fundraiser they were doing by providing some photography and I had a fabulous time getting some fun shots of some adorable dogs, and like I said, one cat.

I think the images turned out pretty fun. My goal was to get some pretty shots for the owners, but also to get some images that anyone could enjoy–images that just screamed dog!

I love them.

I had a lovely morning to photograph this couple that are expecting their first baby.

She had/has the perfect pregnant belly.

I’m not sure I could ever get a tattoo, but I sure love photographing folks who have them.

I believe I have mentioned before that I volunteer for NILMDTS, providing remembrance photography to families who have babies that are stillborn, or for a variety of reason don’t have long to live. The first session I conducted for NILMDTS in Syracuse after relocating was for this family. Their little boy looked beautiful and I was honored to meet him and photograph him, but sadly he his life was way too short.

Last week, I had the opportunity to photograph this family again with their new son, little C.

We tried to replicate a photograph we had done with his brother first.

Isn’t he cute?! YES.

He loved being rocked.

Such soulful eyes.

It was dark and dreary on this day, but we had a small break in the rain and decided to try some outdoor pictures. I’m glad we did.

Did you hear? I got a dog, our first. She was rescued from a puppy mill in St. Louis by my mom, and we call her Lola.

Isn’t she sweet?

I’ve been meaning to post about her for over a week since we got her, but a bunch of sessions to proof, and a wicked cold got in the way–ah life.

Meet Tara and Courtney. I am super excited to photograph their wedding, and just thrilled that they found me from one of my previous wedding couples.

We started the session off at their house, and when I saw the kegs in the corner of the porch I knew I had to include them somehow.

I was going for a bit of an Anthropologie look for the session to fit their style–and I think it worked. Also, don’t you just love their catalog?

During their session I was inspired to try a few landscape images. If there are not people in an image, I really struggle, but it is an aspect of my photography I want to improve on.

They only stayed pensive for a few moments, but I sure am glad I was able to photograph those moments.

I photographed Jess and Bob’s engagement session in Utica where they live, and where the wedding is going to be. If you have driven through downtown Utica you have probably seen this wall.

I was able to fit in a mini engagement session recently for a couple getting married on Thousand Island Park. I really like the feel that they are going for on their wedding day, and I can’t wait to see how it all turns out.

I had the couple stand next to this tree that I really liked. First I got a close up.

Then, after almost forgetting my original idea, I got the full tree in the image.

I think I might make them go back to this rock on their wedding day. Love it.

I got to meet their very cute dog.
