Going to the dogs| Manlius, NY pet photographer

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Dogs, dogs, dogs, and one cat–That is how the afternoon went while I was helping out the Bright Star German Sherperd Rescue. One of my former bride’s asked me to help with a fundraiser they were doing by providing some photography and I had a fabulous time getting some fun shots of some adorable dogs, and like I said, one cat.

I think the images turned out pretty fun. My goal was to get some pretty shots for the owners, but also to get some images that anyone could enjoy–images that just screamed dog!

I love them.

Thanks to all of the dogs, cat, and owners who came out to support Bright Star German Shepard Rescue.

If you like what you see, contact me to set up a pet session for your furry family member.

Beautiful Belly| Syracuse, NY maternity photographer

Friday, June 25th, 2010

I had a lovely morning to photograph this couple that are expecting their first baby.

She had/has the perfect pregnant belly.

I’m not sure I could ever get a tattoo, but I sure love photographing folks who have them.

Don’t you love these shoes?

Love this one.

What a find, eh–I like where it says “we get you ready for life”.

And, one more fun one.

Can’t wait to meet the new baby–see you soon!

A special session| Syracuse, Ny family photographer

Monday, June 21st, 2010

I believe I have mentioned before that I volunteer for NILMDTS, providing remembrance photography to families who have babies that are stillborn, or for a variety of reason don’t have long to live. The first session I conducted for NILMDTS in Syracuse after relocating was for this family. Their little boy looked beautiful and I was honored to meet him and photograph him, but sadly he his life was way too short.

Last week, I had the opportunity to photograph this family again with their new son, little C.

We tried to replicate a photograph we had done with his brother first.

Isn’t he cute?! YES.

He loved being rocked.

Such soulful eyes.

It was dark and dreary on this day, but we had a small break in the rain and decided to try some outdoor pictures. I’m glad we did.

Thank you so much for thinking of me and having me out to photograph little C. He is adorable.

Our new pup Lola

Friday, June 18th, 2010

Did you hear? I got a dog, our first. She was rescued from a puppy mill in St. Louis by my mom, and we call her Lola.

Isn’t she sweet?

I’ve been meaning to post about her for over a week since we got her, but a bunch of sessions to proof, and a wicked cold got in the way–ah life.

Tara & Courtney Engaged!| Fayetteville, Ny wedding photographer

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Meet Tara and Courtney. I am super excited to photograph their wedding, and just thrilled that they found me from one of my previous wedding couples.

We started the session off at their house, and when I saw the kegs in the corner of the porch I knew I had to include them somehow.

Thanks for understanding.

We also started the session at their house so that we could include their puppy in a few images.

Love it.

I have a lot of favorite shots from this session. This is one of them.

And, I love the smiles here.

I was going for a bit of an Anthropologie look for the session to fit their style–and I think it worked. Also, don’t you just love their catalog?

During their session I was inspired to try a few landscape images. If there are not people in an image, I really struggle, but it is an aspect of my photography I want to improve on.

My two attempts.

Can’t wait to see how the wedding goes!

Twins again| Fayetteville, NY family photographer

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

It was lovely to do another session with these adorable twins.

They only stayed pensive for a few moments, but I sure am glad I was able to photograph those moments.

f

After the short warm up they were all go, go, go, and play, play, play.

Thanks for another fun session.

Happiest Baby | Syracuse, NY baby photographer

Monday, June 14th, 2010

I have to start off this blog post with an apology. I’m sorry that I didn’t get a variety of expressions from your adorable little baby. She just happened to be joyful in every single image.

See what I mean: Yeah, I’m crawling.

Yeah, daddy!

Yeah, family portrait.

I’m standing!

I love this and seeing this makes me remember when my babies used to give me those full mouth baby kisses. Oh…I miss my babies.

More joy.

Thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your happy little girl again. She has grown so much since her tiny newborn session. For a flashback here she is when I first photographed her:

And now! Time sure does fly by.

Wishing all the babies and kids out there a lot of joy today.

Jess and Bob engaged!| Syracuse, NY wedding photographer

Friday, June 11th, 2010

I photographed Jess and Bob’s engagement session in Utica where they live, and where the wedding is going to be. If you have driven through downtown Utica you have probably seen this wall.

I’ve been making lots of my couples get on the ground recently. Love the shots that I am getting.

You two are so awesome—love this shot.

Jess you are so beautiful, and I love the way Bob is looking at you in this image.

This is where their ceremony is going to be held.

Thanks for showing me around–can’t wait for your wedding.

Yet another adorable one year old.

Check out that GQ look.

Super sweet. We had a little walk in the woods for our session.

Now he is in full smile mode.

Loving mom.

And showing off his walking skills. He was so proud.

Thanks for letting me photograph your growing boy–he was a charmer.

Thousand Island Park | 1000 Island Wedding Photographer

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

I was able to fit in a mini engagement session recently for a couple getting married on Thousand Island Park. I really like the feel that they are going for on their wedding day, and I can’t wait to see how it all turns out.

I had the couple stand next to this tree that I really liked. First I got a close up.

Then, after almost forgetting my original idea, I got the full tree in the image.

I think I might make them go back to this rock on their wedding day. Love it.

I got to meet their very cute dog.

Thanks so much for the tour of the Island—can’t wait to see it again on your wedding day.
