I have been busy, busy busy photographing lots of super cute families and amazing weddings this summer, but now it is time to relax with my own kiddos before the busy school year begins.

I will be out of the “office” for the rest of August hopefully creating all sorts of wonderful memories to get us through until next summer.

This year we are doing a mountains to beach North Carolina trip. The last time I had my kids out to a NC beach was in 2006.

Here they are being oh so cute and little.

And here is a recent photo I took of them when they came along with me to NYC where I was doing some work.

If I am a little slow to respond this week I hope you all will understand. There is so little time to play with them and I am going to soak up this opportunity while they still want to play with me.

These girls were so much fun to photograph and they had a ton of personality which I think you can see from the photos.

With four little girls this house will always be a fun one to photograph.

Congratulations to Jessica and James who were married at the Basilica of Sacred Heart in Syracuse on one of the hottest days of the summer.

Despite the heat it was a fabulous celebration at Anyelas Vineyard in Skaneateles.

They kept the lights off at the church to try and keep it cooler inside.

This little guy was a bit of a muse for me at the wedding as you will see.

I can honestly say I have never laughed so much during a ceremony as I did at this one. In this first picture I believe Jessica was asking if she should kiss her groom at that moment–and I think the priest said, “I don’t know, can you”?

And then…the priest could not find the items needed to conduct communion. I believe this was not his normal church and he did not have the correct keys. But, everyone took this in stride and like I said it was still a very joyful ceremony with lots of smiles and laughs.

Jessica and James had a few signature drinks being offered at the reception, one of which James designed and was even written about in the NY Times.

The food was fabulous.

I am telling you it was so hot that night, but look at how many people were on the dance floor. The heat did not stop anyone.

So, I have a little fear of heights(it has gotten worse as I get older) and I admit I am not much of a risk taker. But, I also don’t want to be a spoil sport so I agreed, and even smiled while doing so, that we should definately go up the cable car in Chamonix to get the best view of Mont Blanc (the highest mountain in Europe).

They ride up is fairly fast and done in two stages and everyone just crams on the cable car. It is not for those that are claustrophobic for sure and it is scary. I really did feel like a bird, but a really scared bird while going on the ride.

Once you got off the cable car there was more climbing!! Scary! I was happy I didn’t have kids with me to worry about up here.

From solid ground (where there was a cafe) I took another shot of the cable car with the town beneath it.

I was feeling pretty proud of myself at this point. We were going to go on a hike part of the way down and then take a train the rest of the way, so I knew I didn’t have to get back on the cable car.

Then I saw that I actually wasn’t brave at all. The people doing these things were much braver (and crazier):

Christiane & Juan found me through their wedding planner, Stephanie Rinko of Splash Event Planning, and I am sure glad we made the connection. They were both so kind and very easy to photograph.

Their wedding took place at the lovely picture perfect (but hot) church in Caz, First Presbeterian Church, with the reception at the Linklean House.

Ceremony. It was very, very hot in the church that day, but everyone held up great. Hot is seeming to be the key word for this summer’s weddings.

I kinda love it when the groom is walked down by his parents.

We rode down to the lake for a few formals.

The details at the reception were simple and perfect.

Christiane had such a great laugh. I loved capturing it.

No wedding cake at this reception, but I don’t think people minded.

The reception was really fun with a band and a DJ sharing responsibilities.
