It was my first time photographing a wedding at Mirbeau Inn and Spa, the weather was warm, and Tricia and Joseph are great to work with so I was really excited.

While Tricia got ready there were little kids running in and out of the room, playing games, and just adding some giddy sounds to the day. (more on the kids later)

We did all of the formal shots before the wedding, including a first look, so that Tricia and Joseph could go straight from the ceremony to their coctail hour.

Tricia had a fabulous totally unique dress that she rocked.

If you haven’t attended a wedding at Mirbeau the setup for the outdoor ceremony is very unique.

During the cocktail hour the kids had their own scavernger hunt (with babysitters).

Tricia and Joseph were such a fun couple to photograph as these two images should tell you. The finger puppets were favors for guests, but also part of their story as the both found out when they met that they each carried around a finger puppet.

The little lady was on move.

She also only wanted to smile when she was being thrown in the air, so we did a lot of throwing. I love this shot.

Such cuties and what a fun family. It was really a joy to photograph all of the playing.

The clouds looked dark on my drive to this session and sure enough as soon as I stepped out of the car it started to rain.

My lovely clients were waiting for me, and it wasn’t raining hard so we did our best. Then, it started to pour. It was raining so hard that our umbrellas were doing very little to keep us dry, and the thunder was making us all a little nervous so off we ran. I ran to the car, they ran to a nearby restaurant. After waiting out the storm for 15 minutes we tried again. We were all fairly soaked, but I do love the images. Thanks for being flexible and trusting.

Congratulations to Erin & Alan who were married last month.

After Erin booked with me I found out that two of my neighbors were involved with her wedding. One neighbor, Karen Woodridge,  helped to plan and decorate the event which was fabulous.

I love a good candy bar.

The cake was made by another neighbor, Karen Hance. It was simple and elegant and it tasted yummy.

The reception was held at Lafayette Hills Golf and Country Club in Jamesville.

I have lots of travel Tuesday posts to catch up on, but today won’t be the day it gets done- I have too many clients waiting on proofs and albums at the moment, but I did just take a vacation (hence the back up), and it was an adventure. We were in Virginia camping during the earthquake and we were in North Carolina for the hurricane.

This photo was taken at Jockey’s Ridge State Park in North Carolina–the tallest natural sand dunes in the Eastern United States. I image that many photographers have made amazing shots here.

I was really hit by the pose my daughter  took (so teenage).

Actually, the whole time I was struck by the person that she was becoming. Only 11, but sometimes that feels so old.

If your house is anything like mine things have just gotten really busy. There are so many more appointment to remember and papers to sign, and I just hope you are all still taking the time to stop and smell the flowers.

What a great place for a wedding. Renee and Stephen were married on Thousand Island Park in the house that Renee spent her summers.

I was inspired by all of the found details in the house.

Renee got ready surrounded by her friends and her daughter who was adorable and always telling her mom how great she looked.

The ceremony was in the yard overlooking the water.

After the ceremony the whole bridal party took a boat over to Joey’s at TI Club for their reception.

Renee’s daughter gave the most amazing and touching speech—everyone was crying.

What fun it has been to photograph this little guy since he was born. It always amazes me just how much a two year old can do and knows.
