Allison & Tim are married!| Syracuse, NY wedding photographer

Friday, October 25th, 2013

On a rainy, foggy October 5th Allison and Tim were married. Things started off in Fayetteville at Miracles. I’m pretty sure some of Allison’s bridesmaids could make it as comedians. I loved the show and Allison was kept laughing for most of the getting ready.

It was great fun to include one of my best friends, Annmarie in the wedding day photos. She is the person on the cover of Syracuse Woman’s magazine talking about her experience with breast cancer and her awesome Stupid Dumb Breast Cancer blog/fundraising maching.

Love these shots.

I think Allison was telling her mom that she was not allowed to cry.

Don’t you think Allison looks like Grace Kelly? So beautiful.

My second shooter Tara was at the church with Tim and his family.

I love these shots that Tara got of the flower girl and ring bearer.

The reception was at MJK Fams. What a cool venue! I would love to photographer there again.

One of my favorite shots of the day! If you are a bridesmaid this is one of your duties.

Laughing again.

The rain was off and on all day, but the fog when we got to the reception was so cool.

Isn’t it so cool in the barn? I loved everything little thing about how it was set up.

Allison’s brother and cousin sang In Spite or Ourselves by John Prine as the first dance song. So cool. If you don’t know it take a listen and imagine hearing it live at a wedding. Lots of laughing.

I saw this lyric cheat sheet on her brother’s guitar.

home water birth| Syracuse, NY family photographer

Tuesday, October 1st, 2013

This family gave me such an amazing gift by hiring me to photograph their home water birth.

What an amazing thing to get to witness and photograph. It was one of those days where I didn’t question at all why I do what I do.

By the time I arrived Maria was already about 7 cm dilated.

Untitled-1

Untitled-2

Most of these photographs show Maria working through a contraction, but as soon as the contraction passed you could hardly tell she was in labor.

Untitled-3

She must have been very close to fully dilated when she went on this walk.

Untitled-4

Untitled6

Her husband was in charge of getting the pool to the right temperature. I wonder if Mackenzie-Childs ever thought their kettles would be used for this purpose.

Untitled-5

Discussing baby name ideas in-between contractions.

The final moments before the baby arrived.

Whew–amazing right?

*I used  the word “amazing”  four times in this blog post, but I could have used it 100 times.
